How To Study Effectively: Two Simple Tips To Create More Free Time

Did you know that time is actually the most important resource you have. Why? Well, it's the one thing in your life that is not renewable. Once you spend it you can't get it back and you certainly can't ever get more of it. No matter what. You can never ever get more time.

Worse still, we don't even know how much time we have to spend! We have no idea if we have 60 years left to spend or 60 seconds left to spend. And yet humans spend it without a second thought. Humans spend it like it's going out of fashion. Don't we? Don't we spend hours every day surfing the web or trolling through Facebook or other social sites for no particular reason? Don't we watch hours of TV often without even knowing why we're watching it? Don't we often have to try to think of things to do so we can "fill" time?

Can this be right? Do humans really just spend their lives filling time in the belief that time will never end? How can this happen? Well it's simple - for some reason we just think life will go on forever. We just think time is basically endless. We think that there is plenty of time to do whatever we want to do. Every day we wake up and there's more time right in front of us. Another 16 hours of time before bed! The problem of course is that this is a completely flawed belief. The only time you really have is right now.

The real question is what are you doing with your time? Are you working towards something special? Are you filling your time with things you love? Or are you wasting your most precious resource? Whittling it away day after day with empty pursuits that don't really take you anywhere? The bad news is no one can create more time. I don't care what you do, you can't create time. You can however save time, and if you save time you can have more free time.

Free time is the best time of all. Free time is time that you can choose how to spend - rather than others telling you how to spend it or you feeling obligated to spend it a certain way. We all want as much free time as possible don't we? We want you to study less and relax more. That's right, we want you to spend less of your time studying, and much more of your time doing whatever it is you love to do! Does that sound like something that would interest you? So what are two things you can start doing today that will create heaps more free time?

Number one: Four or five 15-minute breaks from doing work equals an hour or more of free time every day. If you do that five days a week that's five or so more hours of free time every week. Five hours a week equals 250 hours a year! What could you do in 250 hours of free time? That's a lot of time to do whatever you love doing.

Number two: There are certain times that are what we call "dead time". Dead time is time when you're not working towards any of your goals but it's also not free time. It's just dead time. For example, you might be walking the dog, riding your bike, sitting on the bus or in a car (not being driven by you!), or waiting at the train station for the train to come. This is time that isn't used for anything much - so start using it.

Maybe you can make a recording of the notes you must memorize and you can listen to them during these times? Maybe you have some flash cards you made and can use the time to look over them? Maybe you have an oral examination coming up and can practice your speech? Maybe you can just read through your text book. The point is take your dead time and make it time well spent. Fifteen minutes spent studying whilst on your way home from school is fifteen minutes you don't have to do that night.

It's time to start valuing your time more than you ever have before. Remember, your time is always coming to an end. You just don't know when that end point is. I hope for you that it's still 100 years away. But there's a good chance it's less than that. Much less! So make every minute count. Save as much time as you can and spend your life doing something meaningful to you. Good luck.

Motivate Me To Study: Motivation Can't Be Faked

You may be wondering why you can't "get motivated" or why you don't "feel motivated" but if that sounds like you, you needn't worry. You see, "getting motivated" is really just a myth. Motivation isn't something you can turn on and off like a tap. Sure, you can watch a self-motivation video or read a self-help article like this one and feel full of passion and hope and have great dreams - and then all of a sudden you fall flat on your face. Life has got in the way again!

A true state of motivation occurs when you have a strong craving to achieve something, you can imagine exactly what it is you are trying to achieve, and you are prepared to do anything to make it happen. When in this state you will wake up each day ready to take on the world and make your dreams a reality. That is the real essence of being motivated. But how many of us really feel this way when we get up in the morning?

Let's break this down into smaller parts so it's easier to understand. If you believe that completing a certain task will be useful and beneficial to you, you will naturally place a higher value on completing that task wouldn't you? For example, if you want to learn how to speak Italian then taking an Italian class is very relevant and you would have a great interest in participating.

However, if you feel a task has no benefits to you, it will be extremely difficult to find any level of motivation required to complete it. It makes sense doesn't it? If you are forced to complete activities that don't seem relevant, you will rebel against them. After all, it's just a waste of time isn't it? For example, if you want to learn to speak Spanish but you are put in an Italian class you will feel you are wasting your time and won't feel motivated. Clearly this is not rocket science.

Do you want to feel motivated? Then whatever you are doing needs to have relevance to you. Without relevance, there will be no motivation and no action. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't complete tasks that appear to have no relevance; you just need to understand what the relevance is and how that applies to you.

The tasks you complete should always help you get closer to your ultimate ambition - and the good news is that most tasks do. What you really need to understand is how they do that. If you want to get a great job that you love and are paid well to do then what do you need to do? Why, get good grades of course! Because good grades equals good college equals good job. Isn't that the line of thinking behind getting good grades? Perhaps you want freedom. You want to lie on a deserted beach somewhere sipping on cocktails. So how do you get that? Well, education equals learn about business equals start a business equals early retirement. But the fact is, you had to get an education in order to find your way to retirement didn't you? You had to complete the tasks required first.

So what is your ultimate ambition? What are you striving to achieve? Do you aspire to work for minimum wage? Is getting a good job and a nice home your grand ambition? Or would you prefer to work for 10 years and then retire and do as you please? Yes? No? Don't know? If you don't know your ultimate ambition, then you won't be able to motivate yourself to complete each individual (and often painful) task. But, once you know why you are doing something, the how becomes only a matter of course, not an immovable obstacle.

You can find true motivation by understanding what you want. Spend some time considering where you want your life to go, what will be required to get it there and why that truly inspires you. Once you know what you want, you will be amazed at how each boring task you need to complete becomes easy. If the tasks still frustrate you, the goal you are striving for is still not powerful enough - it is not compelling you to action. Find your true inspiration and the motivation will always be there. Good luck!

The Role Of Insurance Restoration Contractors

By Lela Perkins

An insurance firm is always run by specific policies which dictate that insured members pay a fee in exchange of losses and risks that they may incur. Insurance is still viewed as the ultimate way of managing shortcomings that may affect an insured party in future operations. Given the business operations which involve a lot of uncertainties, risks and diversity, commercial units are always recommended to insure their operations and property. Nevertheless, individuals can also purchase insurance in order to get covered against future uncertainties that may face them. Even though, business owners need insurance restoration contractors who can be assigned to assist them in case of accidents and property damage.

They are needed to restore damaged property through various calamities. Given the fact that insurance is a demanding job, contractors are expected to carry out different duties in relation to particular needs of the client. Normally, they are capable of meeting different demands set to them by their clients.

In relation to air duct damages, the professional can remove all accumulated soot and contaminated dirt from the ducts. This also includes cleaning the fireplace in order to restore free flow of fresh air. Furthermore, they can remove dangerous fibers from asbestos abatement in an attempt to reduce further damages.

Leaking roofs are always handled through basement waterproofing services to establish the drying process of the damp areas. This would involve cleaning all places by removing all dirt and contaminants from such areas. Protective board up services can be used to ensure that the destroyed entity is protected from future problems that may be incurred.

More cleaning duties involve sanitizing, reconditioning, and deodorization of affected damaged areas. This also includes restoring such places after inconvenience and destruction caused by smoke, fire, and or any other factor. Moreover, repairs can be carried out on destroyed structures and assets such as buildings and furniture.

If a premise is leaking, leak detection experts assist the owner to come up with relevant solutions that can prevent future damages. In addition they also assist in structural drying process through driving out water if the building has been flooded. Not only are the services assigned to dry the place, but also restore premise properties that might have been destroyed through water or flood invasion.

If a building has poor sanitation, then area within the building can be contaminated with stale air. In such cases, restoration contractors should revert to odor removal services with an aim of maintaining fresh air flow. Essentially, these services would ensure that the building is free from contamination and poor air flow within the whole building.

In case essential documents are damaged through fire or water, then premise owners may face difficulties in attempts of retrieving them. However, insurance restoration contractors can often assist the premise owners in attempts to retrieve them. They will improvise different means of retrieving and restoring the destroyed documents.

The FMCG industry is extremely fast paced and challenging but a career in this sector can be incredibly rewarding. The industry itself tends to be fast moving therefore you can move from an entry level role to a more senior role fairly quickly.

This article examines what you might expect to experience at each stage in your career.

When you enter the industry as an entry level professional you should expect to gain experience by working in at least two different roles. Roles you might wish to work in include sales reps, assistant brand managers, HR advisors or manufacturing supervisors.

After a couple of years you may expect to reach manager level, here you will probably work in a couple of different roles before moving on. You will need to build up experience within managing people as well as your knowledge on the industry.

When you reach middle management level you need a range of experience amongst different roles, you will also find that international experience will become very important too. Motivate Me To Study! Why "if-Then" Rewards Don't Really Work

Have you ever heard of "If-then" rewards and punishments? Well if that's the case then good for you! Get it? That was a joke in case you were wondering.

"If then" is a motivational tool. The tool tells us that "if" you do something, "then" something will happen as a result. Such as, if you clean the dishes, then you can watch TV before bed. It's a very simple concept and it can certainly be used to motivate in some situations. However, the problem is that "if then" has somehow become the major motivating strategy in society.

"If then" establishes clear rewards or punishments for action or inaction. However, it also has a tendency to create less than desirable outcomes. How so you may ask? Well, if you only do things because you know you will be either rewarded or punished, what happens where there is no reward or punishment? Aren't you simply responding to external danger or pleasure rather than to your internal calling?

When you focus on a reward or a punishment you can tend to become conditioned to believing you should be rewarded for being good and punished for being bad. But what happens when you do something good and no-one rewards you? What happens when all you want to do is achieve a target so that you can get a reward? What happens when all you do it act out of fear of retribution for not acting? Is this the way you want to live?

This is not what motivation is really all about. Motivation is something that should come from within you and drives you to action based on a desire to achieve something. If someone has to reward you or punish you in order for you to do something, you are not actually motivated. Instead, you're just responding to an external stimulus (i.e. you take action in response to the belief that something good or bad may happen as a result).

Motivation is actually about the combination of three elements: autonomy, mastery and purpose (this was established by behavioral scientists Harlow and Deci).

Their research identified that the secret to high levels of performance is actually our deep seated desire to direct our own lives and be in charge of what we do with our time and how we do it (our desire for autonomy), to extend and expand our capabilities and the urge we have to get better and better at something that really matters to (our desire for mastery), and the longing to do things in the service of something larger than ourselves (our desire for purpose).

Understanding these elements is vital if you want to feel the power of true motivation. To develop into a truly motivated person you must create an environment where you are in charge and in control, where you are always improving and developing and working towards something you really and truly want, and where what you are working towards is something that inspires you and calls you to action. Take what you are doing now and twist it within this framework (or finding something else to do if you can't) and you will become a highly energized and motivated person. Good luck!

Learn How A Business Success Coach Can Help

By Trevor Benson

It is essential for business owners to learn how a business success coach works. The concept of business success coaching has been around for a long time, but the service is fairly new. It is significant to find how if a business success coach would work for your business.

Business Success Coaching

A business success coach has the knowledge to make your business the best it can be. They begin the service by evaluating the business to observe the strong points and weaknesses of the business. This helps the business success coach learn where the improvements are needed and teach you techniques that assist you in operating a more competent business.

The Advantages of a Business Success Coach

A business success coach can provide many benefits to your marketing practices, productivity, management or whatever aspect of business where improvements can be made. A coach can work with you personally to uncover ideas on managing the business, or coaching can be implemented for the entire company.

The Things you Should be Aware of

When choosing your business success coach, the most significant thing to remember is that you will be mentored by a successful person. The majority of coaches own businesses themselves, and they understand the challenges and struggles you are faced with. Thus, they realize that your company is unique in the products it sells, and they won't attempt to pressure you into becoming like all the other companies in your sector. This would result in failure, because your company would no longer standout.

It doesn't make a difference whether you have a small start-up business that you want to get off the ground or merely want to perk up a business you have owned for many years, a business success coach may be the precise answer for you. Although the service is not free, you will discover that the return on investment you get from this mentoring will be enormous. The reason for this is that you will be taught innovative methods that assist in perking up your business which will in turn have the outcome of greater profit.

Breakup Advice And Ways To Survive When You Two Breakup

By Antonio G. Clerk

Everyone seems to have breakup advice when you and someone you once loved are breaking up. This can be one of the hardest times in life, especially if you did not want the relationship to end in the first place. The following are tips to assist you through the turmoil and pain of these hard times.

One of the healthiest ways to relieve the pain and grief associated with the breakup is to cry. Do not deny yourself a good cry if you feel the need arise. Also, find ways to keep yourself busy. Watch your favorite programs on TV, exercise a little bit, read, and enjoy any other hobbies that you may have. Be kind to yourself while your heart is healing.

Another healthy way to handle the separation is to seek support of others. This may be friends that you have who are willing to listen. If necessary, join a support group or find a counselor to help you work though your sadness. Whatever you do, do not try to handle this alone.

Finding ways to keep yourself busy will help you to free your mind enough to be able to mend your heart. Try doing things like taking early morning walks or taking in an afternoon matinee at your local movie theater. The idea is to stay busy and not isolate yourself inside of your home for an extended length of time.

With the help of your close friends and family members, you can enjoy time out. Do not be afraid to go out, enjoy yourself, and laugh. This is a healthy attitude even if you have to fake it until you can make it. Another healthy option is to volunteer your time to a local charity. This is a wonderful way to heal while making some new friends that you do not have in common with your ex.

Wait at least one year before you make any major changes such as moving to a new location, buying a new car or home, and so on. Doing these things are ways that many people use to hide their feelings instead of healing, especially after a long-term relationship ends.

Many times, even if the breakup was a shock to you, your gut may tell you that you are better off. You probably can look back and realize that there had been signs that the relationship was ending. Listen to your inner voice. Also, remember that friends will give you all sorts of breakup advice that you should take with a grain of salt.

How to Be Optimistic

While being skeptical can be a healthy way to avoid getting taken advantage of, being pessimistic - that is, always assuming the worst - can have major negative consequences on your life. Seeing only the negative aspects of any situation can cause you to miss opportunities, neglect problems that need to be solved, and fail to take action that would otherwise improve your relationships and quality of life. In fact, studies show that pessimists are more likely to develop chronic illnesses later on in life than optimists.Optimists look for the light at the end of the tunnel. If you've always had a pessimistic worldview, it can be difficult to shift your focus, but it is possible to start seeing the glass as half full, not half empty. In fact you may come to realize that glasses are generally full - it's just that gravity attracts the more dense liquid material towards the bottom.

Let go of the assumption that the world is against you, or that you were born with a gray cloud over your head. It is an assumption that has no basis in reason or science. Sometimes we pick up a flair for pessimism from a parent who made negative assumptions about the world somewhere along the line. Either way, the sooner you can attribute your pessimism to a unique set of circumstances rather than the state of the world itself, the easier it'll be to change your perspective.

Understand that the past does not equal the future. Just because you've experienced pain or disappointment in the past it does not mean that what starts badly will end badly. Do not make a bad start turn into a self fulfilling prophecy for a bad ending.

See yourself as a cause, not an effect. You don't have to be a product or a victim of your circumstances. Stop thinking about what is happening to you and start thinking about what you can make happen. If you're not happy with the way your life is now, set goals and move on. Use your past negative experiences to build character and make better decisions. Life involves taking many risks every day, and not all of them will end positively. That's what defines risk. But the flip side is that some actions will lead to good results, and it's generally better to have a mixed bag than to have nothing at all. Ideally, the good stuff will outweigh the bad, but you'll never reach that point unless you put yourself out there and hope.

Use positive affirmations. Write down short statements that remind you of what you're trying to change about the way you see the world. Put them in places where you'll see them every day, such as on your bathroom mirror, the inside of your locker, on your computer monitor, and even taped to your shower wall. Some affirmations to start with are:

  • "Anything is possible."
  • "My circumstances do not create me, I create my circumstances."
  • "The only thing I can control is my attitude towards life."
  • "I always have a choice."
  • "I choose to live my positive side of life."
Remember that life is short. When you feel pessimism clouding your judgment or you start to feel down about the future, remind yourself that every minute counts. Any time spent brooding guarantees nothing but less time to enjoy whatever life might have to offer. At its core, pessimism is impractical because it causes you to spend time dwelling on things that haven't happened yet and aren't guaranteed to happen. It also prevents you from getting things done. Pessimism breeds indecision. It's a waste of time, and time is a limited resource that you can't afford to take for granted.

Be a balanced optimist. Nobody is suggesting that you become an oblivious Pollyanna, pretending that nothing bad can or ever will happen. Doing so can lead to poor decisions and invites people to take advantage of you. Instead, be a rational optimist who takes the good with the bad, in hopes of the good ultimately outweighing the bad, and with the understanding that being pessimistic about everything accomplishes nothing. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best - the former makes you sensible, and the latter makes you an optimist. Being an optimist is not the same as being an extrovert. You don't have to be an extrovert to be an optimist.

How to Be Happy

Happiness — it's what we all strive to find and keep, even when it's as elusive as ever. Nobody is happy all the time, but some people are definitely more fulfilled than others. Studies reveal that happiness has little to do with material goods or high achievement; it boils down to your outlook on life, the quality of your relationships, and basic amenities like good governance and community resources. Read on for more tips and tricks on how to unlock the happier you.Do something that you love to do. Hiking, playing an instrument, hanging out with your friends, gardening, reading, volunteering; whatever makes you happy. Find some time for it every week. You will find inner peace.

Adjust your attitude. One third of your life will be fabulous, with no thanks to you. It's just fate. Be grateful for it. One third of life is not good, losses and deaths, also with no thanks to you. Suck it up. The other third is neutral. Kind of usual, life being life. Here's your chance.

Be optimistic. In the 70s, researchers followed people who'd won the lottery and found that a year afterward, they were no happier than people who didn't. This hedonic adaptation  suggests that we each have a baseline level of happiness. No matter what happens, good or bad, the effect on our happiness is temporary, and we tend to revert to our baseline level. Some people have a higher baseline happiness level than others, and that is due in part to genetics, but it's also largely influenced by how you think.

  • Add up all the little happy things that happen to you during the day. For example, there was no traffic on the road, you had a nice breakfast, your friend said something funny that made you laugh, you took your dog for a walk in the park and played with it. All of these added together account to one big happiness.
  • Look at the glass half-full instead of half-empty. Your girlfriend break up with you? Now you have a chance to meet someone else! You lose your job? Now you have the opportunity to find a better one! Adjust your mentality so that, in everything that happens to you, there's some kernel of good.
  • Put yourself in situations where good things are likely to happen to you. It's easier to stay optimistic if you set yourself up for success. Cheating on a partner, or stealing a bike — while temporarily thrilling — rarely end well for any party involved. Ask yourself before you act: Am I setting myself up for success or for failure?
  • Think of your current situation (however hard it may be) and then think of how much harder some other people have it. Just be happy that you are not in that worse situation. Learn to enjoy your life!
Make enough money to meet basic needs: food, shelter, and clothing. In the US, that magic number is $60,000 a year. Any money beyond that will not necessarily make you happier. Remember the lottery winners mentioned earlier? Oodles of money didn't make them happier. Once you make enough to support basic needs, your happiness is not significantly affected by how much money you make, but by your level of optimism.

Treat your body like it deserves to be happy. It may sound cheesy to say, but your brain isn't the only organ in your body that deserves to be happy. Researchers have found that exercise, healthy diets, and regular sleep are key factors in growing more happy and staying that way.

Stay close to friends and family: Or move to where they are, so you can see them more. We live in a mobile society, where people follow jobs around the country and sometimes around the world. We do this because we think salary increases make us happier, but in fact our relationships with friends and family have a far greater impact on happiness. So next time you think about relocating, consider that you'd need a salary increase of over $100,000 USD to compensate for the loss of happiness you'd have from moving away from friends and family.
